Q&A with writer, director, and leading man, Josh Radnor on 'Liberal Arts'

Josh Radnor and Elizabeth Olsen star in the romantic drama 'Liberal Arts'

Actor, writer and director Josh Radnor sat down for an interview with Examiner Dorri Olds to talk about his new movie "Liberal Arts." The romantic comedy drama was shot at Radnor's alma mater Kenyon College, a small liberal arts school in Ohio. It opened in New York City this week.

In the film, Jesse Fisher (Radnor) is newly single, 35, and uninspired. When his favorite college professor (Richard Jenkins) invites him to campus to speak at his retirement dinner, Jesse goes for it. He’s prepped for the bittersweet nostalgia of the dining halls and dorm rooms, parties and poetry seminars, but what he doesn’t expect is Zibby (Elizabeth Olsen), a beautiful, precocious, classical-music-loving sophomore. Zibby wakes up feelings of possibility and excitement that Jesse thought he’d lost forever.
